Inez
Ship's Cook
To bored mortals, Inez is a relatively unremarkable Halfling with green eyes, damp brown hair, and the thick, healthy tan that comes of a sturdy life at sea. She saunters easily about with a quirkily clever look that suggests that she knows far more than she opts to say, a hand often teasingly sitting on her jimmied holster of boning knives and metal skewers. She is usually happiest in kitchen or tavern, spinning and wielding up a fresh meal in little more than a wet leather jerkin and loosely tied shorts.
To enchanted sight, Inez’s clever, slippery ways are much more literal. She has a slick, damp, perhaps even healthily slimy look, like the mermaid goddess . . . of a moldering bog. Her damp brown hair contains strands of brown seaweed, treacherously strewn about her shoulders when not tied back, and her skin is clammy to the touch. Her eyes hint at old secrets dragged deep beneath the placid surface of a still lake. Here and there, her skin glistens with greenish scales, and her fingers are toed are slightly webbed. She is equally at home on deck or in water.
Mantle (Autumn) 1
Lilly Snowblossom
Bo'sun
Lilly is about average human height with long, snow white hair in a ponytail. She wears a long white cloak with black or dark green clothing underneath. Aside from the sword on her belt she also has a long shovel on her back and a White cloth across her eyes. Despite being blind, she doesn't have much trouble getting around, even though she does seem to talk to the air a lot (Those who can see ghosts know she's talking to a tall skeleton in a white cloak). Still, that's not as disturbing as the four and a half foot long giant cockroach following her around that she dotes upon.
Sturm von Drang
Master Carpenter aboard Ship
To mortal eyes, Sturm is a powerfully gnarled gnome with sun darkened skin and enough muscles for three gnomes and a human. He stalks around like a dark little storm cloud, with a mouth like an open cesspool and a perpetually wrathful demeanor. He often seems to care more for his creations than for mortal life, and will often blister the hide off a careless sailor who doesn’t keep “his” precious ship, shipshape. His belt carries a number of useful tools at all times and Sturm is never seen without his gray cloak or his black fingerless gloves.
To enchanted sight, Sturm is even more storm like. His skin is the dark slate gray of a storming sky, and his hair appears to be nothing so much as his own personal storm front. Palpable heat radiates from his gaze and spikes when he speaks. Occasionally lightning will play across his muscles or leap from his tongue alongside a particularly blistering oath. His cloak is literally woven of black lightning and stray bits of hurricane clouds and his gloves are of the hide of some strange, deep-dwelling hedge-sea serpent.
At this time, nothing shall be said of his teapot.
Mantle (Summer) 1
Vermeil
Ship's Captain
To mortal sight, Captain Vermeil is a striking elf of somewhat enigmatic origins. He wears an aura of mystery about him like the fine vermilion cloak he favors. Almost always garbed in that color, the captain has a tongue of silver and eyes as blue as the deepest sea. He insists upon the finest tailoring and the best accoutrement for the ship. A fresh breath of air always seems to play about his shoulders and there is a renewing energy to his smile. He runs the ship through the soft touch, strength of personality and the hidden steel of pledge and inner desire.
To enchanted sight, the Captain's already striking looks wax yet more fair and yet more treacherous. His eyes glimmer with taunting reflections of hidden desires and the swell of Spring roils about him in waves. Fairest of Seeming and noble of bearing, deep blue flames dance where his eyes should be and silver mist coils from his mouth whenever his words sound out exceptionally well.

The Mary Read
Look the horizon far, fell the wind of nevermore Freedom is the fire in my soul Freedom is what burns in the dark My dreams it is what I would die for, I would die for. (Under the Flag of Mary Read, Lyrics by Secret Sphere)
The Dark Lady
Thou art as tyrannous, so as thou art, As those whose beauties proudly make them cruel; For well thou know'st to my dear doting heart Thou art the fairest and most precious jewel. Yet, in good faith, some say that thee behold, Thy face hath not the power to make love groan; To say they err I dare not be so bold, Although I swear it to myself alone. And to be sure that is not false I swear, A thousand groans, but thinking on thy face, One on another's neck, do witness bear Thy black is fairest in my judgment's place. In nothing art thou black save in thy deeds, And thence this slander, as I think, proceeds. (Sonnet CXXXI, William Shakespeare)
Isla Neibla Rosa - The Island
The Island is the home Port of the Dark Lady. Perpetually shrouded in a thick mist, the isle is guarded by dangerous reefs and shoals which are sure to sink any ship whose captain does not have exact charts. Once upon the shores, the Mists clear to reveal a lovely little island, with a few freshwater springs, lush vegetation and otherworldly roses climbing and draping the island with coils of leaf, thorn and perfumed blooms.
The Stronghold
Through the Great Gate of the Isle the Stronghold stands upon the Island in the Hedge-Sea, surrounded by vast, creeping thorns.
