SPYCRAFT:
Info:
Players will run US/NATO agents from the 1940's to the 1990's in an increasingly sci-fi influenced shadow world where various agencies jockey for positions of strength on the world stage. The players will deal with real historical events, sometimes taking an active part and other times merely setting things in motion.
Start:
Starting level is level 2 and the first mission will be for the state department in December 1941.
Players:
Vlad (Sleuth?)
Max (Explorer?)
Stephanie (Wheelman?)
Dan
Nat
Powder? (face?)
Subplots:
Subplots can range from attempting to salvage your relationship with your son who has become increasingly estranged due to your inability to keep commitments to him (go to ball games etc.) to an obsession with finding and killing the man who killed your father to tracking down the cure to your rare disease.
They can be run during or between missions as players desire. GM reserves the right to limit gear picks that are run between missions if they are not directly connected with agency duties. In other words, the agency is less likely to give you equipment to help you win the heart of the woman you love than to track down the man who killed your father when the man happens to be the #5 most wanted terrorist in the world.
Max What about if the woman you love happens to be the #5 most wanted terrorist in the world?
Migs Depends on whether they think you are going to join her or bring her in/kill her. In fact, they might be so worried about the former that they may not believe you will do the latter and not let you go after her. Which means you'll have to do it in secret, which could limit the equipment you can request without raising suspicions... Least that is how I'd see it. Unless you have a better argument.
Gear: For now unless I say otherwise (and you are welcome to ask about specific items) the only gear allowed in a 1940's mission is equipment made before 1950, in a 1950's mission is a equipment made before 1960, in a 1960's mission is equipment made before 1970, etc.
Duration: I'm almost done with general planning. Right now it looks like we'll be having about 25 missions with an average of 4 missions a decade. Unless people request more or less missions :P. I'm thinking that subplots will keep people more than busy though (For people who may be too busy for subplots we can discuss other options). Anyway, I won't know until we actually start playing, but I'm assuming that this should be enough material for at least a year, maybe 2. Still, over two years assumes you'll need a month or more for each operation which I doubt will happen. Still, a lot depends on how fast ya'll run through the individual operations, which'll range from simple B&E to full scale infiltrations behind enemy lines. I plan to leave as much planning as possible up to ya'll, though I will try to provide options for you as your control.
